Tyler, The Creator – Flower Boy (2LP)

Flower Boy is built around contrasts: bright chords and inviting melodies sit beside writing about isolation, desire and uncertainty. See You Again is the immediate introduction, but the harder edge of Who Dat Boy makes more sense against the softer passages around it.

Tyler, The Creator gives the arrangements colour without losing the album’s personal thread. A good place to begin if you are drawn to the melodic, soul-informed side of his records.

Edition: 2LP.
