The Dark Side of the Moon is built for the full journey. Sound effects, voices and instrumental passages link songs that are strong enough to stand alone, with Time, Money and Us and Them giving the record very different kinds of tension and release.
The quieter details are a large part of the appeal, so allow it both sides rather than treating it as a greatest-hits selection. This copy carries the 50th Anniversary remaster.
Edition: 50th Anniversary Remaster, LP.
Rolling Stone: No. 55 in the 2023 edition of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
