Nevermind works because the melody and the noise need each other. The guitar sound is huge, but Come as You Are and In Bloom would still be memorable stripped right back. Lithium moves between restraint and release with almost unreasonable precision.
Smells Like Teen Spirit is the obvious starting point; Drain You and Something in the Way are reasons to stay for both sides. The vinyl tracklist here is the twelve-track album, without digital bonus material.
Edition: LP.
Rolling Stone: No. 6 in the 2023 edition of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
